Jens Geyer (born April 21, 1963 in Düsseldorf ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Geyer, who has lived in Monheim am Rhein since 1971 , attended business school and trained there as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk. He worked as the works council chairman at UCB Pharma .

Geyer joined the SPD in 1979. He was chairman of the Young Socialists in Monheim and in the Mettmann district. Later he was a member of the district board, was chairman of the Monheim local association and was a member of the local city council. In 2011 he resigned from his political offices for professional reasons. In the state elections in 2012 , Geyer ran as a direct candidate in the Mettmann I constituency and was able to prevail against his competitors. Geyer also ran as a direct candidate in the 2017 state elections , but lost to his challenger Claudia Schlottmann from the CDU and thus left the state parliament.
