Jens Hendrik Djurhuus

Jens Hendrik Djurhuus (born March 18, 1799 in Kollafjørður , Faroe Islands ; † February 12, 1892 there ) was a Faroese farmer and poet .

Jens Hendrik is the son of Jens Christian Djurhuus and Jóhanna Maria Jensdóttir. He was married to Anna Elisabeth Friderikka Olesdatter.

Like his father, he devoted himself to the poetry of Faroese ballads . One of his best known works is "Gudbrands kvæði", which is about the Christianization of Norway by Olaf the Holy .

Jens Hendrik Djurhuus was a member of the Løgting parliament from 1852 to 1855 .
