Jens Jäger (2019)

Jens Jäger (born March 25, 1977 ; resident in Pfäfers ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ) and primary school teacher. He has been a member of the Cantonal Council of the Canton of St. Gallen since 2015 .

Life

After completing the Sargans teacher training college, Jäger taught at various primary schools in the Sarganserland and See-Gaster area . In 2017 he worked at the Swiss School in São Paulo .

politics

Jäger has represented the Sarganserland constituency in the Cantonal Council of the Canton of St. Gallen since 2015. During the 2020/2024 legislature, he is a member of the judiciary commission of the Cantonal Council and, as the second teller, is a member of the Presidium of the Cantonal Council.

In June 2020, Jäger announced that he was running for the office of mayor of the municipality of Vilters-Wangs . The election will take place on September 27th.

Private

In addition to teaching, Jäger is an active member of various local clubs, among other things, Jäger is involved in youth sports and as a football referee instructor for the Swiss Football Association . Since 2009 he has been the referee officer of the local club FC Mels , where he is also an honorary member.
