Jens Kirsten

Jens Kirsten (* 1967 in Weimar ) is a German literary scholar , book scholar and editor .

After graduating from high school, Kirsten completed a technical training (adult qualification) as a furniture upholsterer. From 1991 to 1993 he attended the Foreign Language Institute of the City of Munich. He then studied Latin American Studies , Old American Studies and Linguistics at the Free University of Berlin and was awarded his dissertation in 2004 with the dissertation “Latin American Literature in the GDR. Publication and impact history " on the Dr. phil. PhD. From 1987 to 1989 he worked for the samizdat artist magazine “Reizwolf”, published by Claus Bach and John Keiler ; He started producing graphic prints in 1984. Since 2006 he has been managing director of the Thuringian Literature Council in Weimar.
