Jens Petersen (born December 22, 1941 in Esbjerg , Denmark , † March 8, 2012 there ) was a Danish football player .

Career

Jens Petersen was born in Esbjerg in December 1941 when Denmark was under German occupation during World War II . He began his football career in the 1950s in his birthplace near Esbjerg fB . From 1960 he played for four years in the club's first team and won the Danish championship three times and the cup once. In 1964 Petersen moved to Scotland for FC Aberdeen . There he was able to win the Scottish Cup in 1970. He was under contract with the Dons for a total of six years. He then moved to SK Rapid Vienna for one season . He let his career end in 1973 at KRC Mechelen in Belgium.

National team

Jens Petersen played a total of 21 times for the Danish national team between 1962 and 1964 and scored one goal. He was previously active in the U-21 .
