Jeremy Blackburn is a retired Canadian ski jumper .

Career

Blackburn, who started for the Oshawa Ski Club , made his international debut on December 1, 1991 as part of the Ski Jumping World Cup in Thunder Bay . In 1990 he was accepted into the junior national team. With rank 63, however, he was far behind the world's best. A year later at the World Cup in Ruhpolding , he was 49th without any points.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1993 in Sweden's Falun Blackburn jumped on the normal hill at number 54 and on the large hill on rank 63. For 1993/94 season belonged to Blackburn squad Ski Jumping Continental Cup . In his first season he reached 82nd place with 90 points.

A year after the world championship, he started at the ski flying world championship in Planica in 1994 , which was also rated as the ski flying world cup. In the end he flew to a good 43rd place.

After he competed again in three World Cups in Thunder Bay in March 1994, but again without points, he started again in March 1995 at the Nordic World Ski Championships on the same hill. After he could not prevail with 52nd place and also in the Continental Cup with 30 points only finished 127th in the overall ranking of the 1994/95 season, he ended his active career.

After the end of his career he worked as a coach in his home club. In 2011 he was inducted into the Clarington Sports Hall of Fame for his athletic achievements .
