Yermak Salimov

Yermak Bidachmetuly Sälimow ( Kazakh Ермак Бидахметұлы Сәлімов , Russian Ермак Бидахметович Салимов ; born November 26, 1957 in Cherdojak, Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician.

Life

Yermak Salimov was born in 1957 in the village of Cherdojak in East Kazakhstan Oblast . He graduated from the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in 1981 as a mining engineer. In 2001 a further degree from the Kazakh State Law Academy was added.

He began his professional career as a master miner in a mine belonging to the Irtysh Polymetallic Combine in the Glubokoye district in East Kazakhstan. He was also involved in the Communist Party and was secretary of the Combine’s party office from 1987 to 1989. He worked for this company until 1994. From 1994 to 1996 he was the first deputy head of the administration of the Glubokoye district and after that he was employed again at the Irtysh Polymetallic Combine. Between 1997 and 1999 he held the post of Deputy Äkim of Glubokoye County. From 1999 to 2000 he was the insolvency administrator of Irtyshsky medeplawilny sawod and Irtyshsky gorno-obogatitelny combined. From 2008 he worked for the regional administration of East Kazakhstan where he was head of the Enterprise and Industry Department. On July 21, 2009 Sälimow was appointed Äkim (Mayor) of the city of Ridder . After only a few months at the head of the city administration, he was appointed deputy Äkim (governor) of the East Kazakhstan region in November of the same year. He did not hold this position for long either, because in July 2010 he was transferred to another post and was henceforth Akim of the Syrian district. Since June 16, 2015 he is Äkim of the city of Semei .
