Jeroni Rosselló i Ribera (* 1827 in Palma de Mallorca ; † 1902 there ) was a Mallorcan poet, Ramon Llull specialist and politician.

Rosselló graduated from the Balearic Institute. He studied law at the University of Barcelona . He worked as a lawyer in Palma, where he became known professionally. As a friend of Víctor Balaguer , he became the most famous politician of the Partit Sagastí , the liberal party of Práxedes Mateo Sagasta , in Mallorca.

Rosselló was a great connoisseur and great admirer of German literature. Above all , he was influenced by Friedrich Schiller in his Spanish-speaking ( Hojas y flores , 1853; Ecos del septentrión , 1857) and in his extensive Catalan poetry. Above all in his Catalan poetry, he introduced archaisms as a conscious stylistic device. With his works on the history of Mallorca ( Lo joglar de Mallorca , 1862) he won several prizes at the Jocs Florals in Barcelona. In 1863 he was appointed Mestre en Gai Saber . In 1873 he was president of the Jocs Florals himself. Rosselló published mainly translations by foreign poets in several Mallorcan magazines as well as in Calendari Català and Lo Gay Saber of Barcelona. In 1863 he published the poetry collection Poetas de las islas Baleares with poems by Spanish-speaking authors of the 16th and 17th centuries. In 1873 he edited the poetry collection Poetes balears by then current Catalan-speaking poets of the Balearic Islands.

Rosselló was an absolute Llull specialist and connoisseur. He worked on the publication of a Biblioteca lul·liana with the Catalan work by Ramon Llull, which was presented here for the first time as a complete work. In 1859 he published the Obras rimadas , the rhymed work by and in the style of Ramon Llull. In addition to works by Llull that were unpublished at this point in time, there are also apocryphal works in the style of Llull. Rosselló fell ill during this phase. The writer Mateu Obrador i Bennàssar continued this work with great scientific meticulousness. Rosselló had also prepared the edition of Felix by Marià Aguiló for the Biblioteca Catalana series .
