Jerzy Witkowski

Jerzy Witkowski (born January 4, 1938 in Krasnopol , Second Polish Republic , † July 14, 1999 in Warsaw , Poland ) was a Polish pianist .

Witkowski was considered a talented soloist and chamber musician with a special musical discipline. He was particularly successful as an interpreter of contemporary music. He played the world premiere of Witold Lutosławski's Variations on a Theme by Paganini to the composer's great satisfaction. He and Jerzy Maksymiuk were the soloists in the 1966 premiere of Grażyna Bacewicz 's Concerto for Two Pianos.
