Jesús María Lacruz Gómez (born April 25, 1978 in Pamplona ) is a former Spanish football player .

Lacruz, who was born in Pamplona, made his professional debut for CA Osasuna , for whom he also played in his youth. After three years he was drawn to Basque rival Athletic Bilbao , where he was a permanent staff member for nine years.

It quickly became clear that he would not be able to win any titles with the Basques, who traditionally only competed with Spaniards. So in the summer of 2006 the logical change to the then cup winner Espanyol Barcelona followed, with whom he made it to the UEFA Cup final the following year . Thanks to his great services to the Basques, who have always been represented in the Spanish Primera División since the league was founded, the transfer fee was only € 300,000, so no obstacles were put in his way. With Espanyol he reached the final of the UEFA Cup . In the league he reached a place in midfield. After being in the 2006/07 season still had a regular place their bets were irregular in the following years. In the second half of the 2008/09 season he was finally no longer considered.

From the summer of 2009 Lacruz was without a club for six months before joining Real Unión Irún in early 2009 , who played in the Segunda División . With his new club he was relegated at the end of the season . In the Segunda División B he was often out and was only used in half of the games. He ended his career in 2012.

National team

In 2000 Lacruz won the silver medal with the Spanish U23 national team at the Olympic Games in Sydney . Only in the final they lost Cameroon .
