Jesús Sánchez Adalid

Jesús Sánchez Adalid (born July 1962 in Don Benito in the Spanish province of Badajoz ) is a Spanish author of historical novels . His work is characterized by the historical correctness resulting from his extensive research prior to his work.

Life

Sánchez Adalid spent his childhood in Villanueva de la Serena . At the University of Extremadura , he earned a degree in law and a doctorate at the Complutense University of Madrid . He then worked as a judge for two years until he completed a degree in philosophy and theology . He also holds a degree in Canon Law from the Pontifical University in Salamanca and is also a priest in the village of Alange .

In 1998 Sánchez Adalid was nominated for the Felipe Trigo Prize with La fuente del Atenor . His two previous novels, La luz del oriente and El mozárabe , had already been enthusiastically received by critics and readers. In Félix de Lusitania , he takes up the story of the protagonist from La luz del oriente . Other outstanding works are La tierra sin mal , El cautivo and La sublime puerta . Sánchez Adalid's most recent work En compañía del Sol (2006) is set in Charles V's Spain and tells the story of Francisco de Xavier .
