Yeshah Council

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Yesha Council ( Hebrew : מועצת יש״ע, Moatzat Yesha ) is an umbrella organization for the self-government of Israeli settlements . The acronym »Jescha« consists of the first letters of JE huda ( Hebrew : יהודה), SCH omron ( Hebrew : שומרון) and 'A zza ( Hebrew : עזה). The council was founded in the 1970s as the successor organization to Gush Emunim ("Block of the Faithful"), an organization formed to support Jewish settlements in the West Bank and Gaza Strip . On January 31, 2010, Naftali Bennett was elected chairman of the council. In August 2010, the Yeshah Council organized a course that taught how to "edit" Wikipedia articles in a Zionist way.
