Jeschurun (honorary title)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeschurun ( Hebrew יְשֻׁרוּן) is a poetically used name of honor for the people of Israel ( 5 Mos 32.15  EU ; 33.5.26 EU ). In Isa 44,2  EU the name is used for the chosen servant of God . Its meaning is uncertain, perhaps derived from “Yashar” which can be translated as “the honest one ” or “straight, sincere ”.
