Jesse Marshall (born October 18, 1980 ) is a former American ski racer who specialized in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom . His greatest success was overall victory in the 2003 Nor-Am Cup . His sister Chelsea and brother Cody are also ski racers.

Career

Marshall drove his first FIS races in December 1995, two years later the first starts in the Nor-Am Cup followed. There he was able to place himself in the top ten for the first time in the two slaloms at Osler Bluff in March 2000 with ranks six and nine. He made the final connection to the top at the end of the 2001/02 season , where he reached third place in the two slaloms of Nakiska and fifth place in the slalom ranking with two further top ten results.

The 2002/03 season was his most successful: Marshall reached the podium in seven races in a row, celebrated two victories in the giant slaloms of Sunday River and Nakiska and with these performances secured victory in the overall classification, victory in the giant slalom classification and second place in the slalom classification. During this season he started in the slalom of Schladming for the first time in a World Cup race on January 28, 2003 , but did not qualify for the second run. In the Nor-Am Cup he was unable to continue his previous year's successes in the 2003/04 season and only came on the podium once. In the end he finished fourth in the slalom classification. In the World Cup he still had no success, in his ten races he never reached the second round.

In the 2004/05 Nor-Am Cup season he made it onto the podium three times, but in the overall standings he only came in sixth in the giant slalom. In the World Cup, he completed another seven races that winter, but never qualified for the second run. His last World Cup race was the slalom in Kranjska Gora on February 27, 2005, the following winter he only started in the Nor-Am Cup. There he reached two podium places in slalom in January and finished seventh in the final classification in slalom and giant slalom. After the 2005-06 season, Marshall ended his active career.
