Jesus Chrysler Suicide ( JCS for short ) is a Polish band from Rzeszów .

history

Jesus Chrysler Suicide was founded in Rzeszów (Poland) in 1991. In 1993 they signed a recording deal with Corner Records and released their first album, Romp . The album was very well received in the national metal scene, so that the company toured nationwide and performed with Pro-Pain and Life of Agony, among others .

With Schizovirus 0 , which appeared in 1995 , the band finally made the leap out of the underground scene. During this time the group also gained its reputation as a good live band. The 2004 re-release of the record was voted one of the 100 best albums of the 1990s by the Polish music magazine Tolky Rock .

Three tracks from the 1997 remix album "Remixed by 2.47" were part of the films "Gniew" and "Inferno".

In 1999 the third studio album Eso Es was released . Contrary to expectations, the record was even more successful than its predecessor and brought 'JCS' a nomination for the largest Polish music award, the Fryderyk , in the “Hard & Heavy” category.

The 1999 cover version of the Depeche Mode classic " People Are People " was also a great success in Poland.

In 2006 the album Rhesus Admirabilis was released .

Music genre

Jesus Chrysler Suicide is difficult to classify. Musically they move in the alternative metal environment, but there are also passages that can be assigned to synth rock and elements of Polish folk music in some songs.

The texts are in both English and Polish .
