Jewhen Mykolaiowytsch Nyschtschuk ( Ukrainian Євген Миколайович Нищук ; born December 29, 1972 in Ivano-Frankivsk , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian actor, political activist and politician. From April 2016 to August 29, 2019 he was Minister of Culture of Ukraine.

Life

In 1995 Yevhen Nyschtschuk graduated from the Kiev National University of Theater, Film and Television " Ivan Karpenko-Karyj " and became an actor at the Kiev Academic Theater & Art Workshop "Konstellation" and at the National Ivan Franko Drama Theater .

During the unrest of the Orange Revolution in 2004 and the Euromaidan 2013/14, he took an active part on the stages of Independence Square .

Yevhen Nyshchuk was in the first Yatsenyuk cabinet between February 26, 2014 and December 2, 2014 and was again Minister of Culture of Ukraine in the Hroysman cabinet since April 14, 2016 .

Private

Nyshchuk lives in Kiev, is widowed and has one son.
