Jianghan Plain

The Jianghan Plain or Jiang Han Plain ( 江漢平 原  /  江汉平 原 , Jiānghàn Píngyuán ) is a plain in central and southern Hubei on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River . It forms the northern part of the Lianghu Plain ( 兩湖 平原  /  两湖 平原 , Liǎnghú Píngyuán ), which in turn belongs to the plain on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River .

The Jianghan Plain was created from the floods of the Chang Jiang rivers , mostly known as the "Yangtze" in German-speaking countries, and Han Jiang . The flat and wide plain has an area of ​​over 30,000 square kilometers, it is on average about 50 meters above sea level. There are many rivers and lakes in it. It is the most important agricultural area in Hubei, and crops include cereals and cotton. In terms of mineral resources, there is rock salt and oil .
