Jiangsu Shagang Group ( Shagang Group for short) is the sixth largest steel producer in the world in terms of volume and one of the largest privately owned industrial companies in China. In 2015, 34.2 million tons of steel were produced (for comparison: ThyssenKrupp 17.3 Mt).

The main plant is located in Zhangjiagang, directly on the banks of the Yangtze , about 150 km from its mouth.

In 2001, Jiangsu Shagang had the disused Hermannshütte and parts of the Westfalenhütte transported from Dortmund to China and rebuilt there within three years.
