Jim Chappell

Jim Chappell is an American smooth jazz and New Age pianist .

Chappell was born and raised in Michigan . He traveled the United States as a young adult before settling in Nashville to work as a songwriter . Then he moved to California , where he worked as an accompanist for the modern dance department of the University of California . He released his debut album Tender Ritual in 1986 and sold over 12,000 albums through tours and self-marketing. Between 1989 and 1994 he was able to place a number of albums in the New Age music charts in the USA.
