Jimmy Vasser (born November 20, 1965 in Canoga Park , Los Angeles ) is a former American automobile racing driver and overall winner of the 1996 Champ Car season.

Career

After he had previously competed in the Toyota Atlantic Series , Vasser completed his first champ car season in 1992 with a seventh place overall. After a total of 232 races and the overall victory in this series in 1996, he is now the co-owner of the KV Racing team , for which Mario Moraes and Paul Tracy will be drivers in the IndyCar Series in the 2009 season . Even at the wheel, Vasser was last in January 2009, together with Jimmie Johnson and others, seventh overall in the Daytona 24 Hours on a Pontiac .

Vasser now lives in Las Vegas .
