Jirō Atsumi

Jiro Atsumi ( Jap. 渥美二郎 , Atsumi Jiro * 15. August 1952 in Adachi , Tōkyō as Toshio Atsumi ( 渥美敏夫 )) is a Japanese Enka - singer .

From a young age, Jirō Atsumi worked in his birthplace and in Kita-Senju . Under the stage name Takeshi Atsumi ( 渥 美 健 ) he sang the theme song in Tōei's wacky film Champion of Death . Atsumi Jirō made his debut in 1976 with Sony Music Entertainment Japan with the song Kawaii Omae ( 可愛 い お ま え , "You are cute"). With 2.8 million records sold, his song Yumeoi Sake ( 夢 追 い 酒 , " Sake chasing dreams ") became a hit . In 1989 he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, but Jirō Atsumi overcame it. He has been registered with Nippon Columbia since 2001 (with Columbia Music Entertainment from September 2002 to October 2010 ).
