Budōka

A Budōka ( Japanese 武道家 ) is a martial artist or martial artist who practices an Asian martial art ( Budō ). Examples of Japanese Budo arts are for example Jiu Jitsu , Judo , Aikido , Karatedo .

The Sino-Japanese Kanji Bu ( ) means " military " or " warlike "; the Kanji ( ) has the semantics of the word "way". The suffix -ka corresponds to the Japanese character which means "family, house, home". Consequently, Budōka means : "Person who is at home or at home in the martial arts of Budō".

Budōka go through various student levels (Japanese Kyū ) and master levels (Japanese Dan ) in the years of training . Depending on the respective martial art, the degree of your progress can be represented by the belt colors.

Overview of the Budōka

The expression Budōka represents the umbrella term martial artist, and it is useful - to further differentiate Budōka in individual martial arts - to designate people of Japanese martial arts with the suffix -ka . Commonly used are e.g. B. Jiu Jitsuka , Judoka , Karateka , Aikidōka .

Aikidōka

An Aikidōka ( Japanese 合 気 道家 or 合氣道 家 ) is a Budōka who practices the Japanese martial art of Aikidō .

Iaidōka

An Iaidōka ( Japanese 居 合 道家 ) is a Budōka who practices the Japanese art of drawing the sword Iaidō .

Jiu Jitsuka

A Jiu Jitsuka ( Japanese 柔 術 家 ) is a Budōka who practices Jiu Jitsu in Japanese self-defense .

Judoka

Karateka

There is also a computer game of the same name, which was first produced by Brøderbund in 1984 for the Apple II . It was also very popular on the Commodore 64 .
