João Tordo (* 1975 in Lisbon , Portugal ) is a Portuguese writer, journalist, translator and screenwriter. He works mainly as a novelist .

Life

João Tordo was born to the singer Fernando Tordo and Isabella Branco. As a teenager he attended Pedro Nunes High School in his hometown. He then began studying philosophy at the Universidade Nova in Lisbon and then went to London from 1999 to 2002 , where he studied journalism for a few semesters . There he also wrote for newspapers and magazines such as The Independent and Icon, and News Magazine . In 2002 he went to New York , where he continued studying for a year at various workshops at the City College of New York . He has been working as a freelance journalist since 2002 and has written for magazines such as Sábado , Elle and the weekly Expresso ; his first novel was published in 2004. He has also worked as a screenwriter for various series and TV films for television. Tordo's most famous novel is "The Accidental Biography of a Love".
