Joël Daydé

Joël Daydé (born March 15, 1947 in Paris ) is a French blues and soul singer.

Live and act

After a few short-lived memberships in various groups during the 1960s , Daydé released his first solo album J'aime in 1970. The following year he had his greatest commercial success when his version of the title Mamy Blue won first place in the October 1971 reached the French single charts . His second album White Soul was produced in 1972 at Lansdowne Studios in London with British musicians, including Rick Wakeman and Michael Giles . After a few more singles, Daydé did not record his next album Ballades until 1976 , which, unlike the previous songs, contained songs sung in French. In 1977 the LP HLM Blues followed and in 1978 with Tout Craque, his last single recorded in the charts. For the time after that, there are only a few studio productions of the musician, who continues to perform live. His first CD Spleen Blues (1995) was not distributed.

Daydé, whose voice is sometimes compared to that of Joe Cocker or Roger Chapman , often accompanies himself on guitar. He wrote about half of the pieces he recorded alone or as a co-author.
