It is in front of Ålesund Town Hall on the north side of Keizer Wilhelms gate on the island of Nørvøy . It was built in 2014 in honor of the Norwegian resistance fighter against the German occupation of Norway in World War II , Joachim Rønneberg (1919–2018) and his comrades.
