Joachim Bauck

Joachim Bauck (born May 11, 1941 ; † June 17, 2009 in Amelinghausen ) was a German farmer and Demeter pioneer. In 2009 Bauck was honored with the Polish Medal of Merit for his services to the spread of organic agriculture in the Polish Wielkopolska voivodeship . Bauck was considered the figurehead of the Demeter Association.

Life

The father Eduard Johannes Wilhelm Bauck (born November 24, 1905 in Klein Süstedt ; † November 26, 1996 ibid) was a pioneer of biodynamic agriculture, first on the family farm in Klein Süstedt from around 1932 then also on the farm (Eggers ) his wife Wilhelmine Elisabeth Dorothee geb. Schlaphof (born March 15, 1908 in Sottorf ; † March 17, 1971 there).

Bauck himself ran the farm until his death. The Bauckhof includes a mill, a cheese dairy, a bakery and a farm shop on an area of ​​366 hectares in addition to the agricultural land. The three Bauckhöfe in Klein Süstedt, Amelinghausen, and Stütensen are managed according to the guidelines of biodynamic agriculture. They have been owned by the non-profit agricultural research society since 1969 . The organic food manufacturer Bauckhof Naturkost Rosche was also founded in 1969.

In 2004, at the suggestion of Mayor Helmut Völkers and Voivodship Prime Minister Arkadiusz Blochowiak, he began to promote the idea of ​​organic farming in Poland. A year later Demeter Polska was founded with Joachim Bauck as honorary president. Polish advisors and farmers were trained on Bauck's farm.

In his spare time, Bauck also conducted the Amelinghauser Choir.

Bauck died of a serious illness in 2009 at the age of 68.

Bauck was married and had three children.

Honors

In 2002 Bauck received the Organic Farming Award .

For his contribution to the spread of organic farming in the Polish voivodship Wielkopolska of it was in the presence Wojwoden Arkadiusz Blochowiak , the Minister of Agriculture of the Province, and representatives of the Polish Demeter federal government in 2009 with the Polish Order of Merit honored.

Memberships

From 1994 Joachim Bauck was the managing director of the Demeter Association.

When the state association for organic farming in Lower Saxony was founded in March 1998 by the farmers' society in Northwest Germany , as well as by Bioland and Naturland , Bauck was on the board for Demeter.

From 2002 Bauck was a member of the jury for the Organic Farming Award. In addition, he was chairman of the Federal Organic Food Industry. In addition, Bauck was involved in many other committees in the Demeter Association and Demeter International.

Bauck was honorary president of Demeter Polska.
