Joachim Behlke

Joachim Behlke (born October 19, 1934 in Biesenthal near Berlin; † April 5, 2011 in Berlin ) was a German chemist and molecular biologist . He was a specialist in studying protein interactions using analytical ultracentrifugation . In 2009 he was honored with the Svedberg Medal , one of the highest honors in his field of research.

Behlke researched and taught from 1971 to 1991 at the Central Institute for Molecular Biology of the German Academy of Sciences in Berlin and from 1991 to 1996 at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1996 he moved to the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in Berlin-Buch.
