Joachim Behm

Joachim Behm (born July 10, 1941 in Stettin ) is a German politician of the FDP .

Life and work

After secondary school, Behm, who is of Protestant faith, completed an apprenticeship as an electrician. He then went to the Bundeswehr , where he signed up as a professional soldier and embarked on a career as an officer , which he ended as a lieutenant colonel .

Political party

Behm had been a member of the Young Democrats since 1961 . In 1967 he also joined the FDP . In 1970 he became chairman of the FDP local association in Bad Bramstedt for the first time . He is currently not a member of the board. From 1997 to 2009 he was district chairman of the FDP in the Segeberg district .

MP

Since 1971 Behm has been a city councilor in Bad Bramstedt, where he currently leads the FDP parliamentary group, and was a member of the district council in the Segeberg district from 1974 to 2003 . From 2000 to 2005 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . In particular, he campaigned for the expansion of youth encounters with the countries bordering the Baltic Sea, especially with Poland and the Baltic states.
