Joachim Ecknig (* 1939 ) is a former German badminton player .

Career

Ecknig is one of the founders of the badminton sport at the traditional East German activist Tröbitz , whose badminton section he has belonged to since the late 1950s. He was in 1960 at the championships of the Cottbus district with the team district champion by a 10: 1 against the second season winner, TSG Lübbenau . In the following cross-regional qualification he prevailed with activist Tröbitz against tractor Hilbersdorf and the SG Gittersee. Tröbitz also won all of the games in the GDR finals, which allowed Ecknig and colleagues to take the title of the first GDR team champion. In 1961 the team only achieved silver behind Post Berlin - which was also Joachim Ecknig's last medal success. In the following years he devoted himself more to his studies and was only active on the staff of activists.

Joachim Ecknig lives in Dresden today .
