Joachim Haecker

Joachim Häcker (born September 19, 1968 in Stuttgart ) has been Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and the University of Louisville since 2004, as well as a lecturer at the St. Gallen Business School. He is also director of the German Institute for Corporate Finance, the European Institute for Financial Engineering and Derivative Research and an advisory board member of SHL Telemedicine.

education

After graduating from high school, Joachim Häcker studied business administration and law at the Eberhard-Karls University of Tübingen , where he did his doctorate in both subjects. During his studies, he worked at the chair for mathematics and statistics at the Eberhard-Karls University in Tübingen. He also took part in the MBA program at Kenan-Flagler Business School (USA).

Professional practice

Joachim Häcker has been an advisory board member of the telemedicine provider SHL Telemedicine in Düsseldorf since 2007. Häcker has been working in an advisory capacity for Würth since 2004 . He has also been a member of the Bertelsmann Foundation since 2000, where he is active in the field of German and Israeli executives. Before that, he worked in corporate finance for 8 years. Until 2003 he worked for the Rothschild Investment Bank in London and Frankfurt for four years as Vice President, particularly in the area of ​​Mergers & Acquisitions. Before that, he worked for two years at Sal. Oppenheim and PricewaterhouseCoopers .

Scientific career

Joachim Häcker had been Professor of Corporate Finance at Heilbronn University since 2004 . Since January 2010 he has been Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and the University of Louisville, as well as a lecturer at the Business School St. Gallen. He is also director of the German Institute for Corporate Finance (DICF) and the European Institute for Financial Engineering and Derivatives (EIFD). At the Munich University of Applied Sciences, Häcker is responsible for the International Finance department. He represents managerial finance at the University of Louisville. His task at the neutral GICF and EIFD is to connect science and practice. For the St. Gallen Business School he conducts seminars for top executives in London.
