Joachim Kreyer

Joachim Kreyer (* 1956 in Bendeleben ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was mayor of the city of Sondershausen from 1990 to 2018 .

Life

Kreyer completed an apprenticeship at the Sondershausen potash plant . After doing basic military service in the National People's Army , he studied in Koethen and graduated with a degree in engineering . From 1981 to 1990 Kreyer was active in potassium research. In 1994 he graduated as an administrative specialist.

In June 1990 Kreyer, a member of the Eastern CDU since 1986 , was elected mayor by the Sondershäuser City Council. He was last confirmed in office on April 22, 2012. He did not run in the local elections in Thuringia in 2018 . His successor was the non-party Steffen Grimm .

Kreyer is married and has three children.
