Steffen Grimm

Steffen Grimm (* 1970 in Sondershausen ) is a German politician (independent) and has been Mayor of the city of Sondershausen since 2018 .

Life

Grimm graduated from the polytechnic high school in Sondershausen and learned the profession of electrical engineer. After the political change in 1989/90 he did military service and worked in the middle service for the police in Thuringia . Since completing his studies in 2007, he has worked in the senior service.

As a non-party candidate, he stood up for the 2018 mayoral election in Sondershausen, after the incumbent Joachim Kreyer did not run after 28 years. Since then, Grimm has held this office after the runoff election against his opponent Stefan Schard (CDU).
