Joachim Andreas Lange (born January 8, 1668 in Quedlinburg , † after March 16, 1735 ) was a German carpenter . His father was Martin Lange . He made at least three still preserved and the World Heritage Site belonging timbered houses in Quedlinburg.

life and work

A total of three buildings erected by Lange are known. The oldest building is the house at Neuer Weg 30, built in 1701 . The house at Weberstrasse 44 followed in 1702 . The last known, but not completely preserved building was the house Neuendorf 32, 33, 34 in 1717 . Lange changed the position of the half-timbered stands at Weberstrasse 44 for the first time. Until then, they were each placed strictly regularly over a ceiling beam. The stand spacing varied for a long time. However, he continued to use the traditional ornamental forms of the pyramid beam head , the profiled parapet timber and a floor-high diamond cross . Its building from 1717 already had a so-called stand rhythm with wide windows and narrow wall fields. Profiled parapet timber was dispensed with.

In 1723 a carpenter by the name of Lange has been handed down as the godfather of a Krage family belonging to the notables of Quedlinburg. As far as it was about Joachim Lange, he would be the only master carpenter of the time who would have known a closer connection to these circles of the Quedlinburg society.

Lange, founder of the Dutch and British lines of the Lange family, was first married to Clara Margaretha nee. Bodenstein, and in 2nd marriage with Elisabeth Hartung († July 1717 in Quedlinburg). His 6th great-granddaughter Monique Marcella Frédérique Everwijn Lange (born February 28, 1948 in Haarlem) is Albert Heijn's widow.
