Joachim Siol

Joachim Siol (born November 22, 1937 in Goldberg , today Złotoryja , Silesia ) is a German lawyer . From 1988 to 2002 he was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Siol joined the judicial service of Lower Saxony in 1955 as a law firm apprentice . In 1957 Siol became a judicial officer candidate . In 1960 he passed the Rechtspfleger examination and was thus able to switch to the senior service. It was not until 1963 that Siol began studying law . He completed his legal training in 1971, after which he returned to the higher judicial service of Lower Saxony as a court assessor. In 1974 Siol was appointed judge at the Hanover Regional Court.

After a secondment as a research assistant at the Federal Constitutional Court Siol was founded in 1979 as Judge at the Court of Appeal appointed in 1987 to the presiding judge at the High Court. Siol worked in both functions at the Oldenburg Higher Regional Court .

During the entire time of his activity at the Federal Court of Justice, Siol worked in its XI. Civil Senate , most recently as its deputy chairman. From 1991 to 2002 he was also a member of the Federal Judicial Service Court.
