Joachim Starck

Joachim Starck (born November 6, 1938 in Breslau ) is a German lawyer and was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice from 1990 to 2003 .

Starck joined the judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1966 as a court assessor . In 1970 he was appointed regional court advisor, in which function he worked at the regional court in Düsseldorf . From 1973 to 1975 Starck was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice, then to the Federal Ministry of Justice until 1977.

Already appointed judge at the Federal Patent Court in June 1975 , Starck worked there as presiding judge from 1990 after his secondment ended. Starck was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice on December 3, 1990. He was assigned by the Presidium to the First Civil Senate , of which he was a member until his retirement in November 2003.

Starck has been honorary professor at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz since 2002 , where he has been lecturing since the 1995/96 winter semester.
