Joachim S. Tanski (born May 18, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German economist and professor at the Technical University of Brandenburg .

biography

Joachim Tanski studied business administration at the Free University of Berlin (FU Berlin) and worked for the diploma to 1980 as a research assistant at the Institute of Management of the University of Berlin. He received his doctorate there in 1983 with the work of cost planning and cost control in the research and development area of ​​industrial companies .

After that he worked for a long time in corporate and tax consulting. In addition, from 1979 to 1999 he belonged to u. a. Prof. Haedrich, Prof. Eder , Dr. Klemm and Dr. Kleinert joined the team of lecturers for the postgraduate course in Tourism and Regional Planning at the Free University of Berlin. At the same time, he was a lecturer in various training courses for auditors and certified accountants .

In the years before his appointment as professor, Tanski was managing director of the German-Swiss consulting company GFK Krankenhaus-Beratungsgesellschaft mbH .

In 1996 he was appointed professor for general business administration , in particular taxation and accounting , at the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences . In 1999 he was elected Dean of the Department of Economics and held this office for two and a half years.

Focus in research and teaching

The denomination of Tanski's professorship is accounting and taxes. He focused on commercial and tax accounting and balance sheet analysis on the one hand and business taxation on the other. Other focal points are cost accounting and corporate monitoring with business auditing (with a focus on internal auditing ), corporate governance and risk management .

Teaching focuses on business taxation and tax auditing . This includes lecturing and examination activities in the training of auditors at the Berlin seminar for tax law, auditing and fiduciary services as well as accountants (IHK) at the German Salaried Employees Academy (DAA) and participation in courses to become certified IFRS experts at the Haufe Academy . Especially large this includes seminars on professional exams for internal auditors ( Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) ) and Graduate Internal Auditor of the Institute of Internal Auditors Austria.
