Joakim Blom

Joakim Blom (born March 16, 1976 in Västerled ) is a former Swedish basketball player .

Life

Blom played for Akropol BBK in the Stockholm area  and then from 1993 to 1998 for the Södertälje Kings in the first Swedish league. For the 1998/99 season, the 2.11 meter indoor player moved to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne in France . Blom stayed there for three years, posting his best statistical values ​​during his ASVEL time in 1998/99 when he scored 6.7 points per game.

From 2001 to 2006 the Swede was under contract in the Basketball Bundesliga  in Braunschweig ; the team changed its name several times during this time due to changing sponsors. He was in 155 Bundesliga games for Lower Saxony on the field, his best season in Braunschweig which was the 2002/03 game year, when he achieved averages of 14.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 34 games.

2006 Blom returned to his home country and henceforth strengthened the first division club 08 Stockholm . Until 2014 he represented the colors of the capital city club and consistently delivered double-digit points. In the 2006/07 season, Blom was voted the best domestic player in the Swedish league by the news service eurobasket.com .

National team

Blom played 126 full international matches for Sweden and scored an average of 9.2 points per game.
