Joanna Katarzyna Skrzydlewska (born February 17, 1977 in Łódź ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ). She was a member of the Polish Sejm (2005–2009) and a member of the European Parliament (2009–2014).

Life

Joanna Skrzydlewska attended the Catholic high school John Paul II in Łódź. She then studied economics at the University of Łódź and graduated with a diploma . She also attended the Diplomatic Academy of the Polish Foreign Ministry. Professionally, Joanna Skrzydlewska was employed in the family business.

In 2003 she became an employee of the City of Łódź, where she was Vice Director of Advertising, Tourism and International Cooperation. In 2005 she ran for parliamentary elections and won a seat for the Sejm with 11,822 votes . There she worked in the commissions for sport and public finance. She was also a member of the Commission on Family and Women's Rights and the Commission on European Affairs. In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 she ran again in constituency 9 Łódź. With 33,835 votes she was able to move back into the Sejm. She also works in the commissions for sport and European affairs. In the 2009 European elections , Joanna Skrzydlewska successfully ran for one seat. This ended their membership in the Polish Sejm on June 10, 2009.
