Joanne Linville

Joanne Joanne Linville (* 15. January 1928 in Bakersfield , California ) is an American actress .

Life

As an actress, Linville was mainly seen in smaller character roles, between 1950 and 2005 she appeared in over 80 film and television productions. In 1968 she played a Romulan commander in the Starship Enterprise episode The Enterprise Incident and in 2001 the columnist Hedda Hopper in the television film James Dean with James Franco . At least as important as her film career was her work as a protégé and close confidante of the famous acting teacher Stella Adler . She later taught many students herself using Adler's method and, together with her colleague Irene Gilbert, opened the Stella Adler Academy in Los Angeles in 1985 .

From 1962 to 1979 she was married to filmmaker and actor Mark Rydell . You have two children.
