Joaquim Sampaio

Joaquim Alberto Campos Sampaio (born February 17, 1970 in Guimarães ) is a former Portuguese cyclist .

Joaquim Sampaio began his career in 1991 with the Portuguese cycling team Tensai-Mundial Confiança . With third place at the Troféu Joaquim Agostinho he achieved his first good placement in 1995. In 2001 he won a stage at the Abimota Grand Prix and was able to win the overall standings. From 2002 to 2010 Sampaio rode for the Boavista Ciclismo Clube cycling team . In 2004 he won part of the Volta ao Alentejo and was third overall. In 2005 he was Portuguese runner-up in road racing, and in 2007 he won a stage of the Vuelta a Extremadura .

In the course of his almost 20-year cycling career, Sampaio rode exclusively for Portuguese teams in cycling races in his home country. In 2010 he ended his career.
