Jobst Nikolaus II (Hohenzollern)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jobst Nikolaus II of Hohenzollern (* 1514 ; † June 10, 1558 ) was Count von Haigerloch from the Swabian line of the Hohenzollern .

Life

Jobst Nikolaus was probably a son of Joachim von Hohenzollern († 1538), who in turn was the second son of Franz Wolfgang von Hohenzollern († 1517). After Joachim's death in 1538, he followed him as the ruling Count of Haigerloch.

Since his count did not come from the rule of Haigerloch , but from the county of (Hohen-) Zollern , he was usually called "Count von Zollern, Herr von Haigerloch", whereby the actual county of Hohenzollern came from a nephew of Franz Wolfgang, namely Karl I. ( † 1576), was ruled. In addition, Jobst Nikolaus was captain of the County of Hohenberg , as can be seen from a certificate from Emperor Charles V from 1538 . In 1542 the count bought the villages of Grosselfingen and Stetten near Haigerloch .

He married Anna Freiin von Zimmer-Wildenstein . Since the marriage remained childless, Haigerloch fell to Karl I, Count of Hohenzollern, on his death in 1558, who thus briefly reunited the lands of the Swabian Hohenzollern.
