Franz Wolfgang (Hohenzollern)

Franz Wolfgang von Hohenzollern (* 1483 / 1484 ; † 16th June 1517 ) from the Swabian line of the Hohenzollern was 1512-1517 reigning Count of Haigerloch .

Life

Franz Wolfgang was the son of Eitel Friedrich II (1452–1512), Count of Hohenzollern and Haigerloch, and his wife Magdalena of Brandenburg (1460–1496).

At a young age, he and his father took part in the Diet of Worms under the later Emperor Maximilian I in 1495 . He also visited the Diet of Augsburg in 1511 . In 1503 he married Rosine von Baden , daughter of Margrave Christoph I.

When his father died in 1512, he followed him as Count von Haigerloch, while his brother Eitel Friedrich III. the county of Hohenzollern inherited.

After Franz Wolfgang's death in 1517, Countess Rosine received Haigerloch Castle as a widow's residence and remarried in 1526.
