Job starters

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

JOBSTARTER is the training structure program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and part of the Education Chains Initiative . The aim of the funding program launched in 2006 is to open up new training positions in companies and to provide them to young people.

Concept and goals

JOBSTARTER supports projects that intend to improve the cooperation of regional actors (e.g. companies, chambers, employment agencies ) and to strengthen regional responsibility for vocational training. In this way, additional company training positions are to be created and filled.

The JOBSTARTER program center is located at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training . It has four regional offices in Hamburg, Nuremberg, Berlin and Düsseldorf, which coordinate the cooperation with the individual projects.

JOBSTARTER is financed by funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the European Social Fund . By 2013, the more than 280 participating projects had been provided with funding totaling 125 million euros.

The projects should target those regions of Germany in which the relationship between the available training places and the people looking for training is particularly unfavorable.

Balance sheet

In the first five funding rounds, the projects managed to open up around 62,600 new training positions, of which 43,000 were filled.

The Society for Innovation Research and Consulting (GIB) commissioned with the evaluation concluded its interim balance for the period 2007–2011 with a positive result. She found that z. B. have developed sustainable structures such as foundations and institutions for further networking and new professional qualifications and dual study programs have emerged.

The projects of the sixth JOBSTARTER funding round began work in autumn 2013.
