Jochen Flinzer
Jochen Flinzer (* 1959 ) is a German conceptual artist and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg .
life and work
Flinzer studied from 1977 to 1982 at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts with Professor Almir Mavignier .
In 2008 he was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg .
Jochen Flinzer is known for his embroidered works of art. Instead of using a pen, Flinzer draws with a needle and thread on cardboard or canvas. Embroidering one of the motifs he has found in the outlines, the result is a "Janus-headed" picture with front and back. Both sides of the picture are inextricably linked and yet at the same time independent.
