history
On December 12 and December 17, 1880, the foundation stone for today's VR-Bankverein Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg eG was laid with the founding of the Solzer and Ibaer Loan Banks Association. More than 130 years ago, Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen and Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch came up with the idea of cooperative help for self-help in northeastern Hesse.
Through numerous mergers with other cooperative banks in the area, today's VR-Bankverein Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg eG developed over the years.
The larger mergers in 1990 were that of Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Rotenburg eG and Volksbank Bad Hersfeld eG to form VR-Bank Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg eG, in 1999 that of Raiffeisenbank Bebra-Sontra and in 2006 that of Raiffeisenbank Aulatal eG to form VR- Bank Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg eG.
