history

Commemorative stone pastor Haupt

On February 16, 1879, the Friedewalder Dahrlehenskassen-Verein was founded on the initiative of Pastor August Haupt. It was the first savings and loan association in Kurhessen to work according to the Raiffeisen system . The farms in Friedewald and the surrounding area were thus able to use their own institute tailored to their interests to raise funds.

After more than 100 years of independence, Raiffeisenbank Friedewald merged with Raiffeisenbank Ransbach on August 19, 1980 to form Raiffeisenbank Friedewald-Ransbach, which was renamed Raiffeisenbank Landeck eG on June 12, 1981 after another merger with Raiffeisenbank Hilmes .

The stories of the neighboring cooperative banks in Heringen and Philippsthal ran parallel to the development of Raiffeisenbank Landeck eG. After Raiffeisenbank Philippsthal and Raiffeisenbank Heringen had operated as independent cooperatives for decades, the two companies merged in 1993 to form Raiffeisenbank Werratal-Philippsthal-Heringen eG.

With the resolution of the General Assembly on June 5, 1998, the merger of Raiffeisenbank Landeck eG with Raiffeisenbank Werratal-Philippsthal-Heringen eG to form Raiffeisenbank Werratal-Landeck eG took place.
