Jochen Rozek

Jochen Rozek (born June 29, 1960 in Oberhausen ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Leipzig .

Life

After completing his training as a bank clerk and completing basic military service, Rozek began studying law at the University of Passau in 1983 . After the First State Examination in 1988, Rozek worked as part of the legal preparatory service at the Munich Higher Regional Court and worked as a research assistant at the University of Passau. The second state examination in law followed in Passau in 1991. Rozek received his doctorate from the University of Passau in 1992 and qualified as a professor there in 1996 for constitutional and administrative law. After he had taken over the representation of the professorship for public law at the TU Dresden in 1997, he became professor for public law with special consideration of administrative law at the TU Dresden the following year .

Rozek held the chair at the TU Dresden until September 2008 and has since held the chair for constitutional and administrative law, constitutional history and church law at the University of Leipzig. Rozek is the successor of Professor Dr. Helmut Goerlich . Since October 2013 he has succeeded Professor Dr. Christian Berger Dean of the Law Faculty there.
