Jochen pieces

Jochen Pieces (* 1962 in Münster ) is Professor of Drawing, Illustration and Artistic Printmaking at the Design Department at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld.

Life

Pieces studied from 1982 to 1987 at the Münster University of Applied Sciences in the design department with Rolf Escher . This was followed by various scholarships at home and abroad, including Norway and France, and studying fine arts at the Braunschweig University of Art from 1992 to 1996.

He is known for his Paris albums . He showed cross-sections through this cycle, for example, as part of an exhibition in the Von der Heydt Museum in 2014. Pieces was selected as university professor of the year 2006, and he was also the dean of his department. In 1996 he was visiting professor at Woodbury University , Burbank, Los Angeles. In 2002 he was appointed professor for drawing, illustration and artistic printmaking in Krefeld.

Drawings of the piece were acquired by the Musée Carnavalet in Paris in 2012 and 2016 . Since October 2016 he has been exhibiting under the title "Moyländer Episodes" in the Museum Schloss Moyland .
