Jochen Wambach

Jochen Wambach (born July 7, 1950 in Wittlich ) is a German theoretical nuclear physicist . Since 1996 he has been a professor at the Institute for Nuclear Physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt . He is mainly concerned with theoretical nuclear and hadron physics.

Wambach studied physics at the University of Bonn . In 1976 he graduated as a physicist. He later did his dissertation there. He took up his professorship at the TU Darmstadt in 1996 as the successor to Friedrich Beck .

Wambach became a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2003 . In 2015 he was accepted into the Academia Europaea “in recognition of his international research and his uninterrupted contributions to European science” .

Since 2007 is editor of the European Journal of Physics A and the Physical Review Letters .
