Jochen Wilhelm

Jochen Wilhelm (born October 2, 1945 in Wuppertal ) is a German economist and university professor.

Career, research and teaching

After Wilhelm had passed the Abitur at the Wilhelm-Dörpfeld-Gymnasium in his hometown Wuppertal , he studied mathematics and economics at the University of Bonn with a degree in maths. He then did his doctorate and habilitation with Hans-Jacob Krümmel at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Bonn with the license to teach business administration.

In 1984, Wilhelm accepted a call from the University of Passau and took over the chair for business administration there, but later refused appointments from other universities. In 1993 he was one of the founding members of the German Society for Finance . Wilhelm's main areas of work are capital market theory, corporate finance, risk management and decision theory.
